著作名稱:Design of a Magnetizing Circuit with Voltage Multiplier for Magnetic Materials

摘要:To meet the application requirements, parts of the permanent magnets are not magnetized directly after production. They have to be magnetized afterwards by application of a high external field which can come from a magnetizer. Therefore, in this paper, a method based on the switching power circuit is proposed. In the method, the inverter is first included to generate a basic square voltage. A double-voltage circuit is then utilized to further boost this square voltage. This process is followed by using the modularization design of switching capacitors so that the proposed circuit can provide large magnetizing current to loads with the interleaving mode. To validate the effectiveness of the method, a prototype is set up in the laboratory. The hardware tests with the non-magnetic ferrite magnet and post-assembly Interior Permanent Magnet motors are made. Test results indicate that the proposed circuit can generate the required magnetizing current indeed.

摘要:: This paper presents a C-rate control method for a battery/supercapacitor (SC) hybrid energy storage system (HESS) to enhance the life cycle of the battery in electric vehicles (EVs). The proposed HESS provides satisfactory power for dynamic movements of EVs (e.g., acceleration or braking) while keeping the battery current within a secure level to prevent it from degradation. The configurations of conventional HESSs are often complex due to the two energy storages and their current/voltage sensing involved. Therefore, in this paper, a simple current-sensing scheme is utilized and the battery is directly treated as a controlled variable to help the battery output current remain stable for different load conditions. While the proposed circuit requires only one current feedback signal, neither the SC nor load current sensors are needed, and the circuit design is thus significantly simplified. Both simulation and experimental results validated the effectiveness of the proposed HESS operating in conjunction with the motor drive system. The proposed method aims at fully utilizing recycled energy and prolonging battery lifespan.

摘要:This paper proposes a control strategy to enhance the operating efficiency of a Hybrid Energy Storage System (HESS) for an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) drive. In this method, the battery and super-capacitor (SC) are connected by an interleaved DC-DC (DD) converter where a bypass DD scheme with the inherent anti-parallel diode of power switches is used to create another shorter path for battery discharge. In this design, an adjustable dc-link voltage is accomplished to fit the characterizations in various motor operating conditions. Then, with the corresponding control design, the proposed HESS can operate in an optimal state to improve efficiency and extend the battery lifetime. To validate the effectiveness of the method, several operation scenarios including acceleration, constantspeed and deceleration of the IPMSM are examined using simulations. This is further supported through the experimental study. The test results obtained under the buck, boost and bypass converter scenarios consolidate the feasibility and practicality of the proposed approach in an attempt for potential electric vehicle applications.

摘要:Regardless of whether level 1, level 2, or dc fast charging, several methods are under development or available as an aftermarket option for Plug-in electric vehicles (EVs). While confining the charging behavior of EVs to low-load periods is difficult, it leads to significant and uncertain load peaks and valleys in the utility power network. Therefore, this paper proposes a new method for an electric vehicle charger. The proposed charging method involves power supervisory characteristics on the basis of the paradigm of a constant-current and a constant-voltage (CC–CV) charger so that the external commands from the demand-side resource aggregator in the smart grid can be executed. In the method, first, a feedback loop is included in the controller to formulate the relationship between battery voltage and charging power as a quadratic concave downward polynomial. The controlled output power at the beginning of constant voltage charging is then set to the maximum value of the quadratic polynomial because the charging power requirement near this point is closed to the highest. Hence, if the charging power is lower than the allowable maximum power, the proposed charger is determined to have followed the traditional CC–CV charging steps. On contrast, the proposed circuit launches the power control loop when the actual charging power is beyond the maximum power limitation of aggregator. The proposed charger can keep the power consumption inside an allowable range of aggregator. That is the power consumption at the EV charging sites becomes directly programmable by their aggregators. The proposed method is examined by conducting an interactive test of a remote energy management system and the proposed controller. The results revealed that the proposed method provide an easy method to dynamically control consumption pattern of the EV charging for demand-side power management.

著作名稱:An efficient GWO MPPT for a PV system using impedance information acceleration

摘要:This paper presents a novel maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method based on the grey wolf optimisation (GWO) technique for photovoltaic (PV) power generation systems. The proposed method utilises previous working duty cycles and their corresponding voltage and current data to compute the instantaneous DC impedance of a PV string. To determine the peak power characteristics of any PV string, the impedance variation of that PV string is used as an efficient shading factor. This shading factor simplifies the calculation of the GWO-MPPT algorithm to obtain multiple peak targets under partial shading conditions. Thus, the efficiency of the proposed power tracking technique can be improved considerably. The effectiveness of this method was validated through both simulation and hardware implementations. Results revealed that the search performance of five iterations of the proposed method was similar to that of ten iterations of a traditional GWO-MPPT method under normal conditions without shading. These results confirm the practicability of the proposed method in various applications.

摘要:This paper presents a cumulative current-magnetizing method for magnetization of permanent magnet, aimed at alleviating the bulky capacitor problem of traditional capacitor-discharged impulse magnetizers. The method employs circuit resonance to boost the output voltage. The resonant alternative current (ac) voltage is then directly discharged to the magnetizing coil without using any rectifier. The proposed resonant ac discharge repeats a number of times over several milliseconds. This allows the magnetizing current to increase incrementally until it reaches the peak that is sufficient to fully magnetize the permanent magnet. With this design, the energy for magnetization is accumulated by small steps, and each increment would require much lower energy. This results in smaller capacitors needed compared to traditional designs. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, several pieces of ferrite magnet without being pre-magnetized were tested using the developed magnetizer. The test results support the feasibility and practicability of the scheme for potential applications.

摘要:Alternative energy power generation has emerged as a crucial research topic in studies on modern energy systems. Because of the inherently intermittent generating feature of distributed generation systems, system operations associated with the integration of distributed generation into existing power networks may suffer from voltage variations and power delivery problems. Therefore, this paper proposes a new unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) scheme. The proposed UPQC consists mainly of two back-to-back inverters that are connected together by a direct current capacitor and installed in series and in parallel with two adjacent feeders. The UPQC can be operated not only for maintaining a downstream voltage to mitigate upstream voltage sags but also for absorbing real power from one feeder and transferring it to the other feeder. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, scenarios including voltage sags and power transfer between two feeders were tested through experimental validations. The test results help consolidate the feasibility and practicability of the scheme for potential applications.

摘要:Conventional dynamic voltage restorers (DVRs) install parallel battery and capacitor sets at the DC bus to supply the required power for voltage sag compensation. However, the reactive power output of a DVR may increase the ripple voltage at the inner DC bus, possibly resulting in a higher operating temperature of the battery and thus decreased battery life. This paper proposes a DVR system that uses a cascade power module to effectively compensate voltage sag. By separating the active and reactive compensation powers, the proposed DVR provides a lower ripple DC link for extending battery life and offers a flexible way to design the capacitor bank. To confirm the effectiveness of the proposed design, theoretical analysis and experimental validation were conducted under various scenarios. Test results confirm the feasibility and practicality of the proposed method.

著作名稱:An Approach to Measurements of Electrical Characteristics of Lithium-ion Battery with OCV Function

摘要:Comprehension of open-circuitvoltage (OCV) function and battery impedance can be used to evaluate the residual energy and dynamic voltage response of lithium batteries. However, noise contamination during data sampling may affect the accuracy of the derived OCV function and battery impedance extraction, resulting in a poor evaluation performance. By aiming at formulating a more representative circuit-based model, this study proposes a hybrid averaging method along with an impedance network observation approach that is embedded within a time–frequency localisation method, anticipating eliminating the influences of sampling noise such that the characterisation of the OCV function and battery impedances can be better ensured. In such an integrated approach, the trimmed relevance vector regression is also added, which is followed by two cascaded R–C networks in order to fit the characteristics of battery impedances. Through the method proposed in this paper, it is found that the average error can be decreased to be less than 20 mV. Both battery residual energy and I–V performance are more effectively comprehended.

摘要:In this paper, a tracking method based on parabolic function is proposed to perform the photovoltaic maximum power point tracking (MPPT). With the proposed method, the maximum power calculation is made from a parabolic convex function. Then a systematic scheme is developed to adjust the concavity and optimal region of the approximate parabola for ensuring the iterative convergence of the proposed method. In order to confirm the effectiveness of this proposed design, the approach has been applied to investigate different atmospheric scenarios. Performance comparison with the conventional method is also made for the assessment of different scenarios considered. Test results consolidate the feasibility of the approach for the applications considered.

摘要:In this paper, the circuit design of resonant inverter for plasma-driven system is studied. Based on the half-bridge inverter structure, the proposed circuit has included the soft-switching techniques so that the investment on heat dissipation can be greatly saved. Moreover, the paper has investigated the plasma power control under different conditions. Via the developed control circuit to formulate the relationships between the output power and voltage as a quadratic function, the output power of system can be then controlled and becomes insensitive to plasma voltage variations. In order to solidify the practicality of this circuit design, mathematical analyses and experimental validations have been thoroughly performed. Test results help confirm the effectiveness of the method, demonstrating its feasibility and practicality for high-frequency drive industry applications.

摘要:In this paper, an inverter array structure for the distributed generation is proposed. In the method, the inverter array is organized by basic and extended units, in which basic units are grouped to evenly share the capacity of primary energy source while extended units are designated for on-line redundant services. Through this design, it is not only beneficial to improve the reliability of energy production, but also owns high flexibility of capability extension. To validate the effectiveness of this method, both simulations and hardware realizations have been made and evaluated. Test results help support the proposed approach for grid-connected operations.

摘要:This paper presents the circuit and control method for piezo-ceramic drives. With the proposed method, a gap is imposed in the transformer core to increase the leakage inductance. This flattens the voltage gain curve of the piezo-ceramic driver over the resonant frequency range, so voltage gain changes are insensitive to frequency changes. In addition, resonant frequency tracking and power control methods are developed, while the circuit is capable of zero-voltage soft-switching such that the circuit operation efficiency can be improved. In order to solidify the practicality of the circuit design, mathematical analysis and experimental validations have been thoroughly performed. The test results help to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method and demonstrate its practicality in industrial applications.

摘要:This paper proposes a detection method of inter-turn short circuit faults for a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). Based on the Field-Oriented Control (FOC) signal, the proposed method analyzes the motor-driving voltage spectrum and finds that the second-order harmonic component of motor-driving voltage can be used as an index to quantify the degree of inter-turn short circuit when the interturn short-sircuit fault occurs. This proposed approach has been tested through the theoretical analysis and Matlab/Simulink computer simulation. Test results can support the feasibility of the interturn short-sircuit fault detection.

摘要:This paper is aimed at researching a modular inverter for the grid-tied micro-turbine power generation system. By coupling with the developed method, the operational reliability and loss factor are first evaluated, where the results can output to help further decide the amount of the duty inverter modules. Then, a current-sharing scheme as well as a modular arrangement is developed to expand the inverter circuit being capable of the parallel operation of multi-modular in anticipation of increasing the reliability and efficiency requirements of installed. The method proposed in this paper was examined under various scenarios. The results help consolidate the feasibility and practicability of the approach for the applications considered.

摘要:本文旨在建立應用於塑膠射出成型機之應變規訊號感測電路,並使用Zigbee 無線網路融入數據傳輸與遠方監測控制功能。本文所提系統首先藉由應變規、儀表放大器、微控制器取樣及類比數位轉換,接著將轉換之電阻訊號經由Zigbee 無線網路之端節點模組回傳至協調器模組,再利用電腦程式顯示目前感測資訊,進而將其數據儲存,故其不僅可提供後續分析之需,同時可俾以掌握塑膠射出成型機之動作狀態。本文於文中已完成感測電路設計、監控平台架設、並由實驗驗證其確能整合應變規、Zigbee 無線感測網路訊號傳遞及系統監視之效能。相關研究成果應已具學術探討及實務應用之參考價值。

摘要:In this paper, based on the paradigm of the cascade inverter technique, a new approach to control the dynamic voltage restorer will be proposed. In the method, the required series voltage for the sag correction is first decoupled by the vertical and horizontal component referred to the phase of load current. The vertical and horizontal voltage component is then generated and compensated via the different reactive and active power module. In this case, as the super capacitor-aided reactive power module can output a large amount of the compensation power, the proposed system will take full advantages of less real power injection during the DVR operation, mitigating a severe and long duration voltage sag with a significantly smaller energy demand from the cascaded inverter. The method proposed in this paper will be examined under various scenarios. The results help consolidate the feasibility and practicability of the approach for the applications considered.

摘要:本文主要在於研究一套適用於一體式起動馬達發電機之雙向電能轉換電路。此系統在馬達啟動時經由三相換流器驅動,使得引擎得以加速。另當引擎到達一定轉速後,電路即切換至發電機模式,此時經由換流器內之背接二極體及降壓型轉換器作用後,即可將發電機產生之電能轉換成直流格式儲存於電池中。在電路設計方面,本文採用超電容強化馬達啟動瞬間性能,並使用微處理器完成數位控制,故可大幅增加所提驅動電路之穩定性。本文已針對轉換電路之馬達及發電機操作模式進行理論分析,並經由模擬軟體與實際系統測試,驗證馬達系統驅動與電能轉換功能。由實驗結果可證實本文之可行性,相關研究心得及數據可供電力人員參考及利用。

摘要:This paper presents a battery/ultra-capacitor (UC) energy storage system for the operation of permanent magnet synchronous motor drives in electric vehicles (EVs). In this system, when the EV is used for accelerated operation, the battery provides a stable voltage to the inverter through the DC-DC converter. At the same time, the battery and UC jointly release energy to the inverter to share the larger current demand of the EV motor. In constant speed operation, the battery supplies energy to the inverter through a shunt diode to avoid additional power losses while the DC-DC converter is operating. During the regenerative braking mode, the current produced by the EV motor is charged to the UC to reduce pulse currents flowing into the battery, which may shorten battery life. To validate the effectiveness of the circuit design, several operation scenarios including buck and boot voltage conversion for the operation of proposed battery/UC ESS were examined in the experimental studies. Test results consolidates the feasibility and practicality of the circuit method for the EV applications.

摘要:傳統型動態電壓恢復器雖已能協助解決電壓驟降之問 題,但在電力系統運轉實務上,因分散式發電系統已被允許 加入電力系統運轉,且得以逆送電力售予電力公司,因此其 出口端鄰域即有長期電壓偏高等程度不等的電力品質問題, 此時對於結合發電系統之現代電力系統而言,電壓品質的改 善實已無法再侷限於電壓驟降之範圍。基於此,本文即在研 究應用在動態電壓恢復器的電能轉換技術,其中考慮電力公 司在高品質需求的供電地區常採雙迴路饋電架構,本文提出 利用兩組換流器與兩組變壓器,輔以直流匯流排共用結構之 動態電壓恢復器技術,並使其分別連結於不同配電站之兩迴 路,因此不同饋線在組態中具隔離跨接特性。此時兩獨立饋 電回路即有實、虛功率潮流互相轉移之可行性,因此可藉由 功率之互相支援與調度達到市電高電壓調節控制之目的。
