摘要: | A compact polarization rotator (PR) with an asymmetric single dielectric loaded rib waveguide is proposed. The core of the waveguide is designed to have a specific rectangular configuration. The waveguide requires only a single asymmetrical dielectric loading on the core to complete the polarization conversion. The optical field is confined to the vicinity of the core center, which matches the optical field of the input/output waveguides. The transition loss of the PR is as low as 0.03–0.21 dB/facet without the taper or offset schemes. Such results can facilitate the fabrication of a PR with an operating length of 10 um. In a comprehensively designed PR with a length of 7.92 um, a –1 dB bandwidth for polarization conversion efficiency (PCE) is greater than 100 nm at the communicating wavelength of 1550 nm. The loading width and thickness with 20 nm tolerance exhibit −0.87 and −0.49 dB changes in PCE, respectively. |

摘要: | A compact silicon polarization beam splitter (PBS) is proposed based on an asymmetrical directional coupler consisting of a wide waveguide and a dielectric loaded narrow waveguide. Given that TE and TM polarizations are the dominant mode in the wide and narrow waveguides, respectively, a perfect phase-matching condition in TM mode but a huge phase mismatching in TE mode can be achieved. Therefore, the TE mode is almost uncoupled regardless of device length but the TM mode can only completely couple to the cross port at an appropriate coupling length. An ultrashort (~8.13 um long) PBS is designed based on a silicon-on-insulator nanowire with a loading refractive index of 2.0 and a gap width of 200 nm. Numerical simulations show that the proposed PBS has a broad bandwidth (~100 nm) with large extinction ratio (> 10 dB) and low insertion loss ( 0.61 dB). The fabrication-error tolerance of the PBS is also discussed. |

摘要: | We introduce a type of LED light-gauge steel frame lamp with an adjustable illumination light field that does not require a diffusion plate. Base on the Monte Carlo ray tracing method, this lamp has a good glare rating (GR) of 17.5 at 3050 lm. Compared with the traditional LED lightgauge steel frame lamp (without diffusion plate), the new type has low GR. The adjustability of the illumination light field could improve the zebra effect caused by the inadequate illumination light field of the lamp. Meanwhile, we adopt the retinal image analysis to discuss the influence of GR on vision. High GR could reflect stray light on the retinal image, which will reduce vision clarity and hasten the feeling of eye fatigue. |

摘要: | Chelosterol ZnO biosensors were synthesized by hydrothermal method with pre-deposited ALD-ZnO seed layers. The ZnO nanostructures were examined by SEM, XRD, AFM, respectively. The XRD is used to analyze the crystal structures of ZnO seed layers that were grown by ALD process, then using SEM and AFM to analysis the surface morphologies of them. Growing of one dimensional ZnO nanostructures on seed layer of 10nm thickness, reveals high sensitivity of 3.15 uA (mg/dl)-1cm-2(121.96 uAmM-1cm-2) and low Km value of0.29mM in 25-100mg/dl cholesterol concentration range. The response time could be as low as 10seconds. In the study, it is found that increasing the aspect ratio of ZnO one dimensional nanostructure also increases the sensitivity and expends the linear measureable range of detecting cholesterol in solution. The thickness of seed layer has a significant influence on sensitivity for one dimensional nano ZnO cholesterol biosensor. |

摘要: | A polarization beamsplitter (PBS) based on asymmetrical directional coupler (ADC) is proposed by utilizing the evanescent coupling between a wide waveguide and a dielectric loaded narrow waveguide. The TM mode is design to be well coupled in the ADC. Meanwhile, since the aspect ratios of these two waveguides are different, the large phase mismatched TE mode results in negligible coupling. The simulation results show that the present PBS has a high extinction ratio of more than 20 dB. |

摘要: | 在此篇論文中以SOI技術為基礎,本論文使用有限元素法進行摸擬分析,並以元件在波長1510nm作為主要研究方向,藉由波導模態的耦合現象及導波條件設計出非對稱定向耦合器,能使TE模態能發生強耦合現象耦合過去另外一根波導,而使TM模態幾乎不會耦合。
而TE模態由於是非對稱型波導之折射率不同,相位不匹配的狀況下,我們要依依調整波導寬度滿足相位匹配條件,藉此達到極化分離的效果。首先,我們的波導是雙根S型彎曲,由於S型彎曲會比未彎曲時的折射率高,於是我們固定一邊的曲率半徑去匹配另外一根波導曲率半徑的值,讓整根波導不論是直線或彎曲時相位皆匹配。
從模擬結果顯示我們通過利用雙S型波導在適當的耦合距離下,分別為曲率半徑20000nm以及角度為13度、曲率半徑47000nm以及角度為5.493度,設計出耦合量99.28%、殘留量僅0.72%達到強耦合的效果。 |

摘要: | 在本篇論文,我們提出了一個創新、簡單的反射型燈具模型在路燈上。大部份的研究者通常是利用穿透型設計方法在室外照明的部分,我們使用反射型設計方法在室外照明上。模型的結構為六面體結構,只需要利用平面來架構就可以了,這使得製造上與曲面的架構相比,更加簡單,價格也較便宜。而我們把LED燈放在模型的斜邊上,這樣一來能夠直接透過調整模型的參數讓配光曲線能改變成能夠應用在路燈上面的形式。根據蒙地卡羅光線追跡模擬方法及照明設計軟體DIALux模擬,其結果符合國際照明委員會(CIE)跟北美照明學會(Illuminating Engineering Society of North America,IESNA)針對道路交通的規定。 |

摘要: | 在此篇論文中,我們使用SOI製程參數設計出單側矩形缺口波導極化轉換元件,並將其運用在感測液體折射率。感測原理為利用待測液體折射率與波導極化轉換元件的極化轉換效率(PCE, polarization conversion efficiency)的響應曲線進行感測,並可透過增加極化轉換波導長度Lc來提高感測靈敏度,當元件長度為508 μm時感測靈敏度可達2.0710-5。此感測器具有製程簡單、靈敏度高等特性,相信未來可以運用在液體成份控制的關鍵製程上。 |
