摘要Providers of services for young children need to condiser the diverse attributes of young children at distinct developmental stages in providing developmentally appropriate services within a service-inclusive social context. This review examines the broad concept of developmental appropriateness in terms of a system of concepts with the two dimensions of age appropriateness and individual appropriateness and relevant issues to provide researchers and service providers with operational guidelines and suggestions. Developmentally appropriate activities such as gestural representation, drawing, dance, musical expression, drama, and play are proposed to enhance the childs developmental benefits. To conclue the review, a contextual perspective of provison and consumption of services for young children is represented graphically to depict the system in which crucial factors relevant to service provision and consumption interact within a service-inclusive social context.

摘要本研究旨在探討心智繪圖法教學對幼兒繪本故事閱讀理解之影響。研究者以心智繪圖做為幼兒的學習工具,將故事分為:主角、情境、主要事情經過、結局四個部分來繪製心智繪圖。 本研究對象為六位彼此熟識的幼兒,並採異質性分為兩組。每組幼兒各自進行十一堂課,其中包含二堂前測,六堂心智繪圖教學課程,以及兩堂不介入心智繪圖教學,和一堂測試心智繪圖的保留效果。研究者將觀察和訪談的逐字稿資料,及心智繪圖文件,加以歸納和分析。本研究結果如下:心智繪圖法實踐了有意義的閱讀歷程,適合做為幼兒繪本故事閱讀的學習工具、心智繪圖法能提升各階段不同能力之幼兒的閱讀理解成效並具有保留效果、幼兒可以自行使用心智繪圖幫助自己在繪本故事上的學習。

摘要本研究旨在探討美勞區藝術媒材的提供對於幼兒同儕互動與藝術學習之作用。本研究採質性研究,以台南縣某幼稚園大班-花花班學習區時間在美勞區活動的五歲標的幼兒為對象,歷時六個月。資料分析來源為觀察錄影與訪談逐字稿以及相關文件,研究結果發現: 一、充足且多元的藝術媒材誘發出豐富的同儕互動。 二、藝術學習目標可藉由提供多元藝術媒材與豐富的幼兒同儕互動過程達成。 三、觸發幼兒藝術表現的提供方式為依照幼兒舊經驗,循序漸進的提供與搭配媒材,並運用相關書籍與提問方式,使幼兒展開創作與自我表達。 根據上述發現,研究者針對教育現場與未來研究者提出幾點建議。

名稱Parental beliefs and partnerships in provision of educational services for young children

摘要This paper is to provide a review of research on parental beliefs and partnerships in provision of educational services for young children, in particular through a provision channel of early childhood programs, by addressing some of the important research issues in this field which have been leading to controversies and demanding research attention and to provide suggestions for potential directions for future research. With comments and critiques presented, this paper discusses issues related to terminology, belief structure, belief system, behavior representation, and representation and measurement of parental beliefs and partnerships in early childhood. Probable relationships among parental beliefs and children’s development are represented in a causality diagram to better understanding of the role parental beliefs may play in parental partnerships in early childhood programs and children’s development.

摘要This qualitative study examined children’s concept formation and writing emergence from the perspective of graphical multi-signification by observing the free drawing activities provided by four girls and six boys, aged four to five, in a Chinese class at a Chinese heritage language school in the USA. Children’s capacity for graphical multi-signification may develop in a consistent transition process, first producing pictographic symbols and then consistently transitioning to the use of ideographic symbols for multi-signification, with children’s contingency association, focus variation, and extension chain characterising their formation of concepts and complex thinking. To enhance children’s learning, a child’s drawing may be transformed into a teaching-appropriate two-part conceptual structure, with the first part depicting the child’s operations of a within-group and between-group extension chain and the second part presenting the conceptual sequential extensions with respect to literal, contextual, and extensive signification embedded in the child’s drawing.

名稱Children’s formation and representations of money-related thinking in graphical complexes: Compound relation operations and creative high-order thinking

摘要Money has been explored frequently from adults’ diversified perspectives. The study investigated qualitatively children’s formation and representations of money-related thinking and concepts with the aid of drawing and languages. The subjects included 135 girls and 165 boys of ages from four to eight, recruited from the City of Tainan, Taiwan. The children were found to understand money from the perspective of physical exchange media and undertook creative relation operations on the graphical monetary and nonmonetary objects produced in their drawings in forming and representing thinking in graphical complexes. The relation operations included attribute representation, grouping, ordering,counting, partitioning/complementing, measurement-unit self-defining, object extending,value correspondence, purchasing power storage, and play-objects manipulating. Relation operations may be undertaken by children sequentially in the form of a compound relation operation and pave the way for children’s formation of higher-order thinking and linguistic productions. The data suggested that the children’s strategic formation of compound relation operations and creative high-order thinking may be characterized by the three sequential relation operation strategies of undertaking attribute representation as the initial relation operation, undertaking numeric relation operations on monetary complexes,and undertaking goal-oriented relation operations to link monetary complexes to nonmonetary complexes. An extensive form of thinking formation by sequential relation operations was proposed in the study to illustrate how children’s formation of higher-order thinking and linguistic productions may be enhanced through sequential relation operations in the form of a compound relation in drawing activities.

名稱新住民兒童與本地兒童繪畫表現之研究─ 性別、年齡與文化因素

摘要繪畫與幼兒發展有著密切關係,幼教師在教學現場,面對來自各種不同文化背景的幼兒,藉由幼兒繪畫,可更進一步了解不同文化背景的幼兒。本研究探討新住民兒童與本地兒童在自由畫的繪畫表現與特徵。研究對象來自於位於金門縣的一所國民小學一年級與二年級兒童暨附設幼兒園大班兒童,以不同年齡層各選取八位兒童,包含新住民二位男童與二位女童暨本地生二位男童與二位女童,共24位兒童。自由畫活動分為兩個階段進行,第一階段與第二階段間隔一個月,每次活動進行30至40分鐘。藉由兩次自由畫活動所收集的新住民兒童與本地兒童之自由畫作品,以質性研究方法分析自由畫的線條、內容元素、圖像構圖、用色與特徵。 本研究資料顯示,就內容元素而言,本地兒童和新住民兒童繪畫以自然環境出現最多,而新住民兒童在內容元素表現多於本地兒童。圖像構圖上,新住民與本地兒童在自由畫呈現最多的圖像構圖是符號性表現和強調性或誇張式表現。 在線條使用上,新住民兒童與本地兒童在自由畫表現上,以出現單縱線、複縱線和單斜線較多。女生偏愛使用複斜線,男生則是點。一年級的新住民與本地兒童在線條使用上較多元。用色方面,女生有較多亮色系顏色出現在自由畫,男生則較常使用暗色系。隨著年齡的增長,新住民與本地兒童在用色上會更多元豐富。本研究發現指出, 藉由文化刺激,本地兒童和新住民兒童皆在繪畫中,表現出所在地地方文化特色,而影響兒童繪畫表現的因素有學校、家庭、地方文化與大眾媒體。
